Mannish Law #50 Don't do business with people who aren't businesslike

One of the most important, painful and costly mistakes I've learned since incorporating my first business in 1997, is that no matter how much you want to, or no matter how hard you try, you can't do business with people that aren't businesslike.
It's normal to want to involve your friends, family and associates in your business ventures, but if you want to build a lasting and successful business and not damage your personal relationships because of unprofessionalism, greed, conflicts of interest, laziness and power struggles, its best to only form business relationships with other business minded individuals.
It's also proven to be prudent, unless they are willing to be silent partners or follow your lead, to only form business relationships with people who are already doing business.
