Mannish Law #43 Always put a tarp over your fire

Literally, this is pretty straight-forward. If you build a fire when you're outdoors, use a tarp (that won't melt from the heat) to cover the fire in case it rains or snows. Figuratively, it means that if anyone or anything keeps you warm (emotionally or physically), allows you to eat, lights you way, allows you to transform raw materials into a refined state, or wards off danger, you should create some means of protecting your ability to continue receiving those benefits.
